Young Mortgage Bankers Events

The YMB is touring the state, hosting networking events aimed at bringing our young - age 35 or younger- mortgage professionals together and introducing them to the value that the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) brings to the mortgage industry.

From our education resources, networking power, Political Action Committee (TMBPAC), and professional advancement opportunities, like the Future Leaders program, there is something for everyone.

Help us find and recognize the future of our industry by encouraging their participation in these networking events. If you or someone in your community/company qualifies as a mortgage industry "up & comer" and is interested in learning how to connect with the TMBA, then we want you to join us as we tour the state.

There is no cost for this event. Stay tuned as we add more to the calendar of events!

Online Closing and eNotarization with Stewart

Digital Mortgage transformation is happening across the mortgage industry. While most of the initial focus has been on the origination and manufacturing process, focus has now turned to the closing and settlement process. Lenders are now actively looking to add closing options across the eClosing spectrum.

Additionally, the TMBA led the country in implementing Remote Online Notarization (“RON”) by passing what has now become the model legislation adopted by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and the American Land Title Association (ALTA). This was a huge accomplishment for our association. With Texas coming on board in July 2018 and over 30 states looking closely at eClosing, eNotarization and RON, this webinar is intended to provide an overview of the various eClosing options and discuss the impending implementation of the RON bill in Texas and beyond.

Scott Gillen, CMB, AMP is Sr. Vice President, Industry Relations at Stewart Title. In his eleven year tenure with Stewart, Scott manages key lender relationships and has been critical to development of Stewart’s overall lender strategy through various market cycles, overseeing client relationships including Stewart’s GSE relationships.

Dawn Lewallen is Senior Compliance Counsel for federal regulations and Senior Underwriter in the national Legal Department of Stewart Title Guaranty Company at its headquarters in Houston, Texas. She advises on RESPA, TRID and federal regulatory issues and compliance related matters. She served on Stewart’s CFPB Task Force as the legal counsel for the training and implementation of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Mortgage Disclosure Rule and other federal regulatory enforcement issues.
