Taeko is the Correspondent Community Lending Director – Responsible for the development and implementation of the Correspondent Community Lending Program (CLP), working with Correspondent Client to participate in our program which contributes to the Firm’s Fair Lending Goals and Racial Equity Commitment.

Prior to becoming the Executive Director for Community Lending in January 2022, Taeko was a Correspondent Relationship Manager for CLP in October of 2020, and assisted with the development and implementation for the CLP Program covering our smaller Independent Mortgage Bankers. Prior to her current role, she served as a Correspondent Account Executive covering B2B client relationships in the East division for 13 years at Chase, and was awarded Home Lending National Achiever in 2009 Taeko began her mortgage career as an Underwriter in 1986 and throughout her tenure, Taeko obtained a diverse knowledge of mortgage banking which includes underwriting, operations management, wholesale lending, mortgage insurance and correspondent lending. Taeko was a charter member of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women and served as local chapter President as well as the National Board Director and was awarded a Kentucky Colonel at the annual convention in 1999. Taeko continues to participate in industry functions, including the Mortgage Bankers Association. Taeko is a 1982 graduate of SUNY Oneonta with a BA in Sociology/Psychology and a 1991 graduate of the National School of Banking at Fairfield University in CT. Taeko grew up in Brooklyn New York and now lives in Western NY in the Beautiful Finger Lakes area with her husband and three very independent cats.

Douglas G. Duncan is Senior Vice President and Chief Economist at Fannie Mae where he is responsible for forecasts and analyses of the economy and the housing and mortgage markets.

Duncan also oversees strategic research regarding the potential impact of external factors on the housing industry. Under his leadership, Fannie Mae’s Economic & Strategic Research Group (ESR) earned the 2022 Lawrence R. Mr. Gardner focuses on equitable and sustainability efforts as Freddie Mac addresses the unique and systemic challenges in the housing market.

He also works with a broad range of housing market participants to address affordable and equitable housing needs. Mr. Gardner is responsible for fulfilling Freddie Mac’s community mission to provide sustainable homeownership education and financing to families who are traditionally underserved by the market. He is also responsible for overseeing Freddie Mac’s delivery and performance against Single-Family Affordable Housing goals, Duty to Serve regulation and Access to Credit activities in the FHFA Scorecard. He leads our engagement with state and local housing finance agencies, diverse and inclusive realtor associations and national and local community development organizations to establish partnerships and programs that create successful homeowners. With Freddie Mac since 2015, Mr. Gardner brings over 30 years of mortgage banking experience to his role. He has spent most of his career in leadership positions focused on providing opportunities for families to buy their first homes. He is a former leader of CRA Lending for the mortgage businesses of Citibank and Capital One and was previously chief operating officer of the National Community Stabilization Trust, where he helped municipalities and nonprofit organizations reclaim neighborhoods devastated by the foreclosure crisis. He has also spent a large part of his career working with state and local housing finance agencies by serving as program administrator and master loan servicer for first-time homebuyer programs.

Sherri Goodman has been with Ocwen Financial Corporation for eight years, and currently leads the global servicing contact center operations of PHH Mortgage.

Prior to her time at Ocwen, Sherri led customer service and collections operations for Ally Financial’s auto finance business, and worked in many operational leadership roles for ten years at Capital One Financial. Sherri earned an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee. She and her family are based in Dallas, Texas.

William Hite has approximately 25 years of experience in the finance industry, with a focus on capital markets and pricing. He currently serves as Pricing Director within the Single Family Portfolio Division at Freddie Mac.


In that capacity, Will manages a team responsible for credit pricing and best execution for both guarantor and cash executions. Mr. Hite is a graduate of Virginia Tech and was a second baseman for the varsity baseball team. Will and his wife live in Falls Church, Va., with their two wonderful boys and two rambunctious doodles. In his free time, he enjoys coaching youth baseball and basketball and helping his boys perfect their Pinewood Derby cars.

Julas has over 20 years of mortgage lending experience, including account management, risk management, sales and business development.

Julas was a member of the Fort Worth Mortgage Bankers Association’s executive board for three years, serving as its President from 2019 to 2020. Julas earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Texas A&M University with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Julas also obtained an MBA from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business. Julas grew up as a “military brat”, graduating high school in Ramstein, Germany. However, he has always claimed to be a Texan and has lived in Carrollton, Texas since 1999.

Doug Mayers, Senior Vice President – Trading, joined the PHOENIX team in 2019 and is focused on contributing to the growth of PHOENIX’s servicing rights and whole loan trading, analytics and advisory practice, as well as its capital markets analytics and advisory business.

Doug’s 35+ years in the industry have been dedicated to the development and execution of liquidity solutions in the secondary market. In his roles prior to joining Phoenix, Doug headed business development for Roundpoint’s MSR acquisitions, led sales, marketing, and business development for Resitrader. and was Senior VP of the client solution group at Mortgage Industry Advisory Corp. (MIAC). While at MIAC, Doug was a leader in the development and execution of MIAC’s ecosystem of client engagements embracing pipeline and portfolio risk management, and mortgage asset valuation and disposition. Doug began his career in 1985 with Lomas & Nettleton, and went on to hold a variety of sales, marketing, business development and management positions at IndyMac Bank, Bayview Financial, Countrywide, and Fannie Mae. He holds a B.A. in History from Kenyon College, resides in Santa Monica, CA with his wife and daughter, and enjoys playing guitar, golfing, skiing, water sports, and international travel.

Michael D. McAuley is a Principal of Garrett, McAuley & Co., a banking and mortgage banking consulting firm that “helps lenders increase revenues, control costs and better manage risk.”

He managed the warehouse lending business for Washington Mutual and JP Morgan Chase and was formerly in mortgage banker finance and lending at the Irving Trust Company and Bank United of Texas. Mike provides consulting services to mortgage bankers, regulators, and other industry professionals, and he has helped commercial banks establish, assess, and improve their mortgage warehouse lending operations. Mike is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; a past chairman of the RMA Warehouse Lenders Roundtable; and a Graduate with Distinction, Willis Bryant Award finalist, and Lecturer at the School of Mortgage Banking.


Alanna McCargoAlanna McCargo

Alanna McCargo was sworn in as Ginnie Mae's 18th President in December 2021. She began her work with the Biden-Harris Administration as a Presidential Appointee in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as Senior Advisor for Housing Finance for Secretary Marcia L. Fudge.

Ms. McCargo's career in housing finance spans decades and has centrally focused on how America's housing finance system can equitably and affordably serve the capital and credit needs of all households. Prior to joining the Biden-Harris Administration, Ms. McCargo was Vice President of the Housing Finance Policy Center at the Urban Institute, a social and economic policy research firm where she led and developed evidence-based research and analysis on the U.S Housing Finance system. She helped to advance the national policy conversation around reducing racial homeownership and wealth gaps and removing barriers to accessing credit and capital. Ms. McCargo also served as Executive Director of the Mortgage Servicing Collaborative, a cross-sector initiative that identified and developed policy recommendations for mortgage servicing and securitization reforms to enable stability for the housing finance system through all economic cycles. Previously, Ms. McCargo held roles as Vice President and Head of Government Solutions with CoreLogic, a property and mortgage technology and data analytics firm, and she was Vice President with JP Morgan Chase's Home Lending division. She worked for Fannie Mae from 2002-2012 on secondary mortgage market and policy development and programs. While at Fannie Mae, Ms. McCargo worked in partnership with the U.S. Treasury Department at the height of the Great Recession and housing crisis in 2008, executing on the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, including implementation of new housing and mortgage programs to promote mortgage servicing reforms, foreclosure prevention, and loss mitigation solutions. Prior to joining public service, Ms. McCargo served in her personal and professional capacity on nonprofit boards focused on housing security and affordability efforts including Doorways for Women and Families, Women in Housing and Finance Foundation, and in advisory roles with the Aspen Institute's Expanding Prosperity Impact Collaborative (EPIC) for housing, and with Habitat for Humanity of Washington, DC. Ms. McCargo has dedicated her career to helping households gain financial stability and security and has been an advocate for safe sustainable homeownership and expanding opportunities and choices that help to build credit, assets, and wealth. She has a BA from the University of Houston and an MBA from the University of Maryland. Ms. McCargo resides in Virginia with her husband.​


Jeff McCartyJeff McCarty

With a focus on Optimal Blue Secondary Services, Resitrader, and the recently released CompassEdge, McCarty is responsible for managing the product development cycle of pipeline risk management and loan trading tools.

McCarty began his career at Optimal Blue in 2010, where he first worked on the trading desk, providing lenders with strategic and tactical advice on hedging, position management, profit and loss reconciliation, hedge cost, and margin strategy. McCarty holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and a Master of Science in economics. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. Jeff was born and raised in Dallas and relocated back to the area 2+ years ago.


Greg McElroyGreg McElroy, CMB

Greg McElroy joined AmeriHome Mortgage Company in 2014. Prior to joining AmeriHome, he was an Executive Vice President at Bank of America on the Mortgage Default Servicing Complaint Resolution team, where he focused on regulatory and executive-level borrower issues.

Previously, he held Executive positions at Bank of America and Countrywide where he managed the sale and servicing of consumer direct insurance products to the captive mortgage origination and servicing client base. Earlier in his career, Greg spent 13-years in finance in the real estate investment industry. Greg is active in the mortgage industry- he earned his CMB in 2022, chaired the CMBA Mortgage innovation Committee in 2023, and currently participates on various committees at the state and national levels.

Since joining Republic in 1999, Republic has grown from two locations to 15+ locations licensed in 12+ states.

Republic is a past recipient of the “Inc 500 Award” and more recently Republic has been honored by National Mortgage News as one of the Best Mortgage Companies to Work for five straight years from 2019-2023. In addition to her dedication to her company, Paulina has been giving back to her industry for many years. Paulina served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association (TMBA) from 2011-2016 and served as the President of the TMBA from May of 2018 through April of 2019. She was a Board Member of the Community Mortgage Lenders of America (CMLA) from 2009 to 2022 when it merged with Community Home Lenders of America. She now serves on the Board of Directors for that organization. She has been an outspoken advocate for the mortgage industry in numerous articles, op eds, meetings with members of Congress, regulators and presidential administrations. While serving as Chair of the Board of CMLA, Paulina testified before the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit in April of 2015 to call for Congress to streamline regulations for community-based mortgage lenders. In 2015 during her time as Chair of the CMLA Board, Paulina was recognized by Housing Wire Magazine as one of 15 Women of Influence. Paulina has an MA from George Washington University and a BS from Auburn University. She resides in Houston with her husband, Jim, their two daughters, Anna and Caragh and their son, Jack.

Bhavesh is a Managing Director on the JPMorgan Chase Consumer & Community Banking (“CCB”) Home Lending team located in Houston, TX.

Prior to joining Home Lending in April 2021, Bhavesh was a Managing Director on the JPMC Commercial Bank Mortgage Finance team with responsibility for coverage of non-bank mortgage originators, mortgage REITs and mortgage servicers throughout the nation. Prior to joining the Commercial Bank in July 2010, Bhavesh spent seven years working in the JPMC Corporate & Investment Bank (“CIB”) on the Syndicated and Leveraged Finance (“SLF”) team in Houston. Bhavesh began his banking career at JPMC in July 2003 as an Investment Banking Analyst. Bhavesh is the head of the Home Lending Executive Culture Council and is the Executive Sponsor for the newly formed Virtual Culture Council. He was selected as one of the JPMorgan Chase Service Corps Program participants deployed to Detroit, MI in May 2017. He is a member of the Firm’s Asian Executive Forum and an active member of the AsPIRE Business Resource Group. DJ joined TMHA as in-house counsel in the summer of 2006 and became the Executive Director in September 2008.

Steven PlaisanceSteven Plaisance

Prior to joining Gateway, Steven worked at regional bank Arvest Bank for nearly 32 years. He started as a bank teller and worked his way up through mortgage with extensive experience in secondary and capital markets. He would serve as President of Arvest Bank’s mortgage division beginning in 2012 including its subsidiary Arvest Central Mortgage Company and then as both President & CEO from 2015 through February of 2021. Steven has been active in the industry throughout his career, serving on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac advisory boards. He is a two-time past president of the Oklahoma Mortgage Bankers Association. Steven has been active in the Mortgage Bankers Association, the national trade association for real estate finance, going back to his graduation of the Future Leaders Program in 1998. Steven served as the 2021-22 Chairman of the MBA’s Mortgage Action Alliance. He has also served on the MBA’s Consumer Affairs Adivsory Council, and currently serves on the MBA Investment Committee, MBA Residential Board of Governors, and the MBA Board of Directors. Nolan graduated with honors from the University of Nevada and holds undergraduate and post graduate degrees in international business and behavioral science (cognitive psychology). Nolan has also completed extensive MBA coursework in International Business at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain and Quantitative Analytics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Nolan has served on countless committees and boards within academia and the mortgage industry. He is a graduate of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Program, MBA Future Leaders Program, and a Housing Wire Rising Star award winner. In his spare time, Nolan enjoys a host of outdoor activities (hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, snowboarding / skiing, golf) and has traveled widely, visiting more than 92 countries. Nolan was born and raised in the Reno / Lake Tahoe area and currently resides in Southlake, TX.
